Harbor House is a helping hand, seed planting ministry. Our purpose is to glorify God by providing a clean, safe environment where men can break from the bonds of addiction from alcohol and drugs. This is accomplished through structured living, AA/ NA meetings, Bible Study, the 12 Steps, sponsorship, work, daily chores, rules, resident savings, planning, and much prayer. Men have the opportunity to get their feet on the ground and their heads pointed in the right direction. It’s a time for some to get introduced to, others more involved with, the 12 Steps and building a firm foundation that will hopefully become the springboard into the rest of their life. When men appear at the door of Harbor House, they come with a need. The need is for guidance and direction. We help as much as they will allow. Sadly, most lose touch before long with the miniscule bit of humility that let them reach out for help to begin with. The other side of the coin is… men are finding new freedom; experiencing useful lives; and reaching out to those who haven’t found it yet.

Program fees at Harbor House cover expenses of running a halfway house. The men do not pay rent, they pay program fees. They do not do as they please but what’s expected of them with their benefit in mind. Hope is free for the taking and the rest is up to each individual as he is willing and able.
